The 1858 dated lock is stamped "U.S./SPRINGFIELD" below the bolster. The tape primer compartment lid is stamped with the Springfield "eagle/shield" motif. The top barrel flat is dated "1857" and the left upper flat has "V/P/eagle head" proofs. It has a rear sight graduated to 900 yards, iron tulip head ramrod, and all iron furniture except for the brass forend cap. The barrel bands are stamped "U" and the buttplate tang is stamped "US".

Condition: Extremely fine. The metal surfaces have an overall a bright appearance with very limited mild surface blemishes. The stock is excellent with some minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
