Very Fine Navajo Textile
Made by Philomena Yazzie, in 1968, was the first Navajo weaver to combine the design elements of bordered rugs from Ganado and Two Grey Hills with earth toned vegetal dyed colors. This started the Burntwater regional style. The rug won 1st place at Intertribal Ceremonial, Gallup, NM, 1988 and 1st Premium, New Mexico State Fair 1988. Geometric pattern in rose, medium blue, gold, green, gray, orange, ivory, mauve and charcoal tones. Measures 5'x7'. Includes appraisal report. In overall excellent condition, very tightly woven could almost hold water. These rugs are hard to find in this condition. Rug collectibility is very good now and is only going up.
