Manufactured from 1861 to 1863. The top of the barrel is marked "D. MOORE.PATENT.SEPT. 18. 1860". Decorative broad scroll engraving on the silver-plated brass frame, trigger guard, recoil shields, butt and backstrap. Seven-shot cylinder with removable ejector rod mounted under the barrel. "R 27" is marked on the rear of the cylinder. Barrel and cylinder swing to right for loading. Brass cone front sight, hammer notch rear sight and fitted with a smooth one piece varnished walnut grip.

Condition: Very fine. The barrel and cylinder retain 50% original high polish blue finish with flaking loss from age not use, and showing an attractive smooth brown patina on the balance. The hammer retains 60% original beautiful case colors, concentrated on the left side. The remaining parts retain 70% original age darkened silver plating with an aged patina on the exposed brass. The grip is good with a repaired crack on the upper left side, 85% original varnish remaining and some scattered minor dents and dings. The markings and engraving are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
