Manufactured in very early 1908 (possibly the first month). The left side of the slide is marked with the two block, two line "PATENTED / APR.20, 1897 DEC.22, 1903" and "COLT'S PAT. F.A. M'F'G. CO. / HARTFORD, CONN U.S.A." marking with the circled Rampant Colt behind the serrations and the right side is marked AUTOMATIC COLT / CALIBRE 380 HAMMERLESS". Colt triangle "VP" proof on the upper left front of the trigger guard bow and the letter "R" on the lower left side. The serial number "188" appears on the left side of the frame. The pistol has the standard fixed sights, blue finish, with blue barrel, "CAL. 380 / COLT" marked two tone magazine and fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with the Colt ribbon at the top and the circled Rampant Colt on the bottom. Complete with the original hanging tag, manual, part of a black box lid with affixed label and part of the "Special Instructions" booklet.

Condition: Very fine. The pistol retains 85% original thinning blue finish with high edge wear, some smooth gray patina on the grip straps and slide, and overall scattered minor scratches. The grips are also excellent with only light handling marks and crisp checkering. The markings are clear. Mechanically excellent.
