Very Early Developmental Remington Number 1 Vest Pocket Derringer

Manufactured between 1865 and 1888 and also known as the "Saw Handle Deringer" and termed by Remington as the "No. 1" size . This very early variation is totally unmarked except for the serial number on the left side of the frame under the grip. This derringer has essentially the same frame as the later variations, except for a slightly different hammer cut-out. Cone front and frame notch rear sights, nickel finish with niter blue screw heads, trigger and hammer, and fitted with smooth walnut grips.

Excellent. The pistol retains 97% plus original nickel finish showing some flaking and oxidation on the left side of the barrel and areas along the edge of the frame. The hammer and trigger retain 50% original niter blue finish with a smooth dark patina on the balance. The grips are also excellent with most of the original finish remaining and showing some lower edge wear, and a few minor dents and handling marks. The action is fine.
