Manufacturer: DWM Model: 1914 Navy
This is an excellent original example of a DWM Model 1914 Imperial German Navy Luger that was manufactured in 1916. The 1916 dated Navy Luger is one of the more difficult Lugers to obtain as there were only approximately 700 delivered in total to the Imperial German Navy, making it one of the lowest production Navy Lugers. The chamber is dated 1916, and so is the left side of the front sight base, and frame rail. The front toggle is marked with the "DWM" scroll. The left side of the barrel and barrel extension are both "Crown" and "Crown/M" proofed. It is fitted with the distinctive 6 inch Navy style barrel with the standard blade front and two position (100 and 200) Navy rear sight. It has a nickel plated magazine body with the Navy wooden base. The base is stamped with a small "Crown/M" proof over serial number "6731" numbered laterally on the base. The pistol has a rust blue finish with straw colored small components and is fitted with checkered walnut grips. It is complete with a very scarce Navy Commercial holster that has been navy proof. It has the single front leather strap/buckle and the front of the holster is stamped with a partial "Crown/I" and on the inside of the flap it has a single "Crown/M" Naval acceptance proof. The back is maker marked: "JON. HUBER/SATTLEREI/MUNCHEN" and is complete with an unmarked takedown tool and unmarked Navy type cleaning rod.
