17 1/2" by 21 1/2" framed. Vera Louise Drysdale (1923 - 1994) was active/lived in California, New Mexico. Vera Drysdale is known for Illustrator, Native American figure painting. Born Peking, China, May 4, 1921; died Tucson, AZ, Jan. 7, 1994. Painter, specialized in Native Americans. Illustrator. Daughter of Kansas missionaries, the family returned to Kansas settling first in Yates Center in 1935 and then in Emporia. Graduated from the College of Wooster in 1944 then worked in Kansas City for Hallmark Cards. Moved to southern California in 1946 where she raised a family and did some book illustrating. Moved to New Mexico in 1970 and to Arizona in 1989. Edited and illustrated The Gift of the Sacred People (1982). Allard Auction Collection Inv: NIED 36260
