<B>A Venetian Rococo Sedan Chair</B></I><BR><BR>Unknown maker, Venice, Italy<BR>Mid Eighteenth Century<BR>Gilt and polychrome wood<BR>80 inches high x 32 inches wide x 42 inches deep<BR><BR>With extraordinarily ornate carving and a whimsical quality, the entire form is softly curved and tapering with seven hand-painted vignettes enclosed in asymmetrical gilt carving. With glass windowed entrance door mounted and hinged in front of structure, three windows on one side, upholstered interior walls and seat surrounded by two retractable privacy screens.
