This is an original and scarce double-wide postcard from the June 27-30, 1968, concerts at the Retinal Circus in Vancouver, BC, Canada, featuring the Velvet Undergound, along with local Canadian bands My Indole Ring, Black Snake Blues Band, Papa Bear's Medicine Show, and the Don Thompson Trio. Art on this scarce piece is by Steve Seymour.
Vancouver had a vibrant psychedelic scene with venues like the Retinal Circus and the Afterthought, which featured international bands on west coast tours and local acts throughout the mid-to-late 60s. Artists like Bob Masse, Eric Fisher and Steve Seymour created some classic psych-rock art, and this scarce postcard is a gorgeous, original, 50+ year old example. Keep in mind the scene and club venues were small in Vancouver, so posters, handbills and postcards were printed in much, much, smaller quantities than their counterparts in places like San Francisco.
This original pre-concert first printing is in excellent to near mint condition with no creases and one "soft" corner (see photos). This postcard measures 5" x 14" with clean bright colors.

A bidder is deemed to have accepted an item when making a bid.
The auctioneer reserves the right to withdraw any lot at any time prior to the time of sale of such lot.
The auctioneer reserves the right not to accept any bid which is only a partial advance over the preceding bid.
The auctioneer may break down or consolidate any lot or lots at his sole discretion.
Galaxy Auctions Canada assumes no responsibility for any liability once a bid is accepted.
Products are sold "as is, where is" and there shall be no warranties or guarantees expressed or implied, statutory or otherwise of any nature.
Catalogue is prepared only as a guide. No sale shall be invalidated by any reason or defect or inaccuracy of description in catalogue or otherwise, and no liability shall be borne by the auctioneers by virtue of any such fault or error.

The winning bidder is not entitled to possession until all items have been paid for in full.
In the event that the purchase prices are not paid within 72 hours (unless email arrangements are made), the auctioneer shall have the right to resell such items in whatever manner he sees fit without notice to the purchaser.
All costs and responsibilities of removal shall be borne by the winner bidder within the time prescribed by the auctioneer.
The winning bidder hereby indemnifies the auctioneer and the vendor against any and all damages arising from the dismantling and removal of any lots.
Any lots not removed within the prescribed time shall be deemed as abandoned. The auctioneer shall have the right to resell or dispose of such items in whatever manner he sees fit without notice to the purchaser.
If for any reason, Galaxy Auctions Canada is unable to deliver any or all of an awarded lot or title thereof, the sole liability of Galaxy Auctions Canada shall be the refund of any monies paid on the lot.
It is the sole responsibility of the winning bidder to remove their items within the prescribed time.
Galaxy Auctions Canada is not responsible for shipping Carrier's lost or damaged items.
If shipping is not arranged within 72 hours the buyer agrees the auctioneer may auto ship all items at the buyers expense.
