Various Properties:THREE NEEDLEWORK SAMPLERS, New England, 19th century. The first with rows of alphabet over inscription, "Rachel T. Briggs, aged 11, 1807," worked in green and blue silk threads on a linen ground, framed; the second a floral wreath encloses rows of alphabet, pious verse and maker's name, "Mary Ann Gilman, aged 18, 1807," worked in green, blue, yellow and white threads, linen ground; the third broad floral border encloses alphabet, pios verse and inscription, "wrought by Sarah Stetson, aged 12, a.d. 1826," worked in polychrome silk threads on a linen ground (staining, fabric loss, discoloraton, soiled) - the largest: 17 in high x 17 3/4 in wide.
