Various Properties:A CLASSICAL MAHOGANY DROP-LEAF BREAKFAST TABLE, attributed to Jenkins Family of Cabinetmakers, Baltimore, Maryland, circa 1825. Rectangular top and inlaid leaves with reeded edge above a frieze with a single drawer and opposing faux drawer, raised on a baluster and reeded drum-form support on downswept reeded legs with lions-paw brass caps and castors - 29 in high x 43 3/4 in wide x 42 in (open) deep. Provenance: This table belonged to Samuel Owings Hoffman, 1801-1864, of Baltimore, Maryland. Hoffman was a State Senator and lived for a while at Charles and Madison in Baltimore. Mr. Hoffman served in the Maryland Senate from ??????. The table is listed in the inventory prepared at his death as "One Mahog. Claw-Foot Dining Table." The table descended in the Hoffman family to the present owner.
