Featured in this lot are six children's primer books circa 1877-1930. The books are as follows - "The Second Reader" by W.T. Harris, A.J. Rickoff and Mark Bailey (1877), "Barnes New National Third Reader" by S. Proctor Thayer, Harlan H. Ballard and Charles J. Barnes (1884), "The Tribune Primer" by Eugene Field (1900), "The Winston Pre-Primer Work and Play" by Ethel H. Maltby (1923), "The Silent Reading Hour Primary Book" by Guy Thomas Buswell and William H. Wheeler (1926) and "A Brief First Primer" by Margaret L. White and Alice Hanthorn (1930). Each book is filled with illustrations, some black & white and some colored. Three books are bound in hard covers while the other three are bound in paper and are thinner than the others. The books show good condition overall showing wear from their age and use over the years but no signs of major damage is present. Some books show foxing and staining in the interior pages but are still in good readable condition. They measure from 7" L x 5" W x 3/16" D to 7 7/16" L x 5 3/16" W x 5/8" D. They have a collective weight of 1 pound and 14 ounces.
