Various '50s Artists 78 Group of Eight (1953-59). Here's a rockin' group of records in extraordinary condition, all smash hits from the years 1958-59, with one notable exception. First, the smash hits (four of which reached #1 on Billboard's Hot 100), all in EX 7, except as noted: a very rare 78 version of Wilbert Harrison's "Kansas City"/"Listen My Darling" (Fury 1023, 1959) in NM 8, The Champs' "Tequila"/ "Train to Nowhere" (Challenge 1016, 1958), Bobby Darin's "Splish Splash"/ "Judy, Don't Be Moody" (Atco 6117, 1958), Duane Eddy's "The Lonely One"/ "Detour" (Jamie, 1958) and "Ramrod"/ "The Walker" (Jamie, 1958), The Everly Brothers' "All I Have to Do Is Dream"/ "Claudette" (Cadence 1348, 1958) in NM 8, and Sheb Wooley's "Purple People Eater"/ "I Can't Believe You're Mine" (MGM 12651, 1958) in NM 8. The bonus here is the first record by the Country/ Rockabilly artist, Bobby Helms -- it's on the small Speed label, three years before he signed with Decca where he had his big hits in 1957. Helms' first: "Hanging Around"/ "Yesterday's Lovin'" (Speed 114, 1953) in EX 7.

Shipping: Recordings (view shipping information)
