<B>Jack Vance. </B></I><B><I>The Brave Free Men</B></I></B></I><B> Archive, Multiple Signatures.</B></I> <BR>Desirable archive related to Book Two of Vance's Durdane Trilogy, <I>The Brave Free Men</B></I>. Considered some of his finest and most consistent work, the Durdane Trilogy's titles include <I>The Anome </B></I>(alternate title: <I>The Faceless Man</B></I>), <I>The Brave Free Men</B></I>, and <I>The Austra</B></I>. <BR><BR>Documents related to the second book of the trilogy are offered here, and include Vance's handwritten synopsis of Part One of the series (<I>The Anome</B></I>) to be included in the prefatory material of the second book, as well as a typed and heavily edited draft of that same synopsis, signed by the author. Additional items include: a collection of pages representing "material cut and changed for continuity for serialization in <I>Fantasy</B></I> and <I>Science Fiction </B></I>magazines," also signed by the author; a typed and edited <I>Synopsis of Durdane: Book II</B></I>, signed by Vance; a photocopy of the edited final draft; and a handwritten letter from Vance to "Ted" concerning the edits Vance has done.
