1879, Ohio. Stock certificate for 19 shares. Black. Vignette at center of a train and town scene. Signed as president by JEPTHA WADE (1811 - 1890); Telegraph developer. Wade was one of the founders of the American commercial telegraph system, a system which was instrumental in the "opening" of the West. Very fine condition. Wade's signature is slightly touched by a couple of hole cancellations.
