Vakataka period Deccan - inscribed facet of a bronze signet ring, (c.300-400 AD), with Datavyam inscribed in characteristic box-headed Brahmi script, 1.20g. The inscription suggest that the ring was used in rituals of Dana and Dakshina, where the inscription was stamped on objects to be donated suggesting they were good to be given away.

Very fine, Rare.
