VERY RARE ORIGINAL PAINTING OF GOVT. BLDG. IN BAVARIA PRE NAZI TAKEOVER - In 1933 Frederick Charles Wissenbach witnessed the Nazi takeover of Bavaria from his apartment across the street. The Nazis tore down the Bavarian flag in the painting. Wissenbach was born in 1887 and died in 1952. His father was Chief grrom the the Kaiser. He spent a year under house arrest for refusal to serve in the German Army. Came to the US in 1912 . Painting has hand written description and signature on back and also comes with typed Wissenbach bio. Approx. 10" by 14". Oil on board.
