The ornate bright cut "L" handle on this cane is inscribed "Edwin Bruce Story" on the horizontal part of the handle,and "May 29, 1881" on one side of the vertical part of the handle, "May 26, 1895" on the other side. The leaf andscrollwork designs cover most of the remainder of the handle, which is just over 3.5" wide and just less than 3.5" high.The ebonized hardwood shaft has a nickel and steel ferrule, although most of the steel has worn down. Minor wearto finish of shaft. Overall length now is just less than 32".(EST 200-400)
