VARIOUS COUNTRIES, clump of four cobs (one Potosí, one Spain, the others unknown), Philip II, assayer B where visible. 57.60 grams total. roughly 2" x 1½" x ½". Leaning stack of cobs, all solidly encrusted together with some edge loss, featuring a choice full shield visible on the top coin (Potosí 8R of Philip II, assayer B), another bold shield also seen on the bottom coin which appears to be a Spanish 4 reales (no mintmark or assayer visible), one of the nicest clumps that we've offered from this wreck. Pedigreed to the Steve Valentine Collection, with original certificate from the salvor/conservator. Recovered from: Santiago, sunk in 1585 off Bassas da India in the Indian Ocean
