V. Pres. Hannibal Hamlin Autograph Letter Signed
Vice President Hannibal Hamlin Autograph Letter Signed “H. Hamlin”. One page, 4.5” x 7”, Washington, January 8, 1863, to H. P. McIntosh, Cleveland, Ohio. This short note is in response to an autograph collector's request for an “autographic letter” from President Lincoln. The letter reads in full: “Your note of the 4th inst is received. I have not an autographic letter of the Prest. that I can send you.” Hannibal Hamlin (1809-1891) served as Lincoln's vice president from 1861-1865. He was dropped from Lincoln's ticket during the 1864 campaign and replaced by Andrew Johnson. The paper is slightly toned and there are remnants of tape on the reverse as a result of having been mounted in an album, else the letter is in very good condition.

Shipping: Flat Material, Small (view shipping information)
