Unique pair of silver ingots, attained from an estate sale in Utah. The larger ingot measures 40mm x 22mm x 14mm, and weighs 3.25 troy ounces. There is a stamp in the base that reads "3.252." The second ingot measures 44mm x 20mm x 10mm, and weighs2.04 troy ounces. There is a stamp that reads "Utah Silver" on the top, and "F.S. Auerbach" on the base. FS Auerbach inherited a huge department store his father and past ancestors started in SLC in 1864. BY the 30's, the store was thriving, and the largest department store in SLC, occupying a quarter of a city block and three stories tall. It was built and made in the style of what we know today as Macy's, complete with a tea room, restaurant, etc. FSA Sr. passed the store down to his son FSA Jr. Jr closed the store in 1979 amid a downtown building , business and cultural crossroads/crisis. Two other major stores closed shortly after. Within 2 years, four major national-chain retailers opened shop which was one of the main reasons he closed. He may have also been unable to sell the store to one of them. Both pieces are in excellent condition. - HKA#65243
