This is a rare early set of hand crafted Cowboy Wooly Chaps from a Montana saddle and leather company. The chaps were strongly believed to be hand crafted by an Inmate in the Utah Correctional Prison. The prison made chaps are marked "U.C.I. 1703" on the inside and shows a dark brown or black wooly angora hide on the front. The "U.C.I." marking is stamped and the 1703 is hand written. The "UCI" is believed to stand for "Utah Correctional Inmate" and then the "1703" was the inmates number. These are rare scarcely ever seen wooly chaps showing good condition. These are 36" L.
