Unusual single action percussion revolver marked “Hanquet, Brevette” on left side of barrel and also signed in block letters on top of frame showing British proofs. The pistol measures 13-1/8” overall with 5-7/8 medium octagon barrel, grey patina finish, checkered wood grips, no serial number visible, cap box contained in butt. Approx. 12, or .45 caliber, 6-shot cylinder. The metal surfaces are good showing some light cleaning on barrel long ago. Some very light surface erosion and just starting minor age. The frame and hammer are well engraved, the wood grips are good with some small marks and slight losses at the edges and there has been an owner’s type plaque removed from the wrist area. A lead collection tab is attached, indicating ownership by well-known dealer/collector Martin Retting years ago. The pistol is activated and revolved by cocking the hammer. Nearly dragoon size. From the Robert Petersen Collection. Est: $800 - $1,600
