Unusual possibly unique well-decorated underhammer percussion pistol signed “Linay Buenos Ayres” in block letters on top of frame. The pistol measures approx. 9” overall with 3” fluted barrel, false rifled (end only), massive .69 caliber. Shows double connecting gold bands around rounded barrel and breech. Stocks are nicely checkered with a silver spangle inlay at center left above trigger. The underhammer mechanism is an unusual in that it is self-cocking double-action allowing the han which is connected to the trigger to be pushed in or out. Simple an ingenious. The only one we have seen in over 40 years dealing in antique arms. Definitely an oddity, possibly unique. From the Robert Petersen Collection. Est: $750 - $1,500
