Unusual Jeweled Spider Web Window
This unusual jeweled spider web window is something of a mystery because: the design is comprised of distinctly different parts, but it is also it was most certainly everything started life together. Also, because there is no distinct border, it appears that this is only part of a much larger composition. The most intriguing part of the window is the spider web, with the crafty lead work and the big colorful jewels. Note especially the large ruby pinwheel jewel that is the focal point of the entire piece. The crest and crown is comprised of high quality beefsteak and ripple cathedral glass. The beautifully drawn number1885 almost certainly refers to the date building was built rather than an address. Adding interest (and curiosity) is the lower left hand section that looks like a jeweled graphic of your favorite dot com stock. It would appear that this section originally extended farther, but we will never know. Dimensions of this window are 22" x 39", which is a nice size to build into a bathroom or kitchen. All the stained glass is in excellent condition except for one BB hole, which lays the foundation for some great historical fabrications. The frame is not original but was made from old wood with an old finish. THIS MATERIAL IS READY FOR SHIPPING OR PICK UP. CONTACT THE AUCTIONEER FOR MORE INFORMATION.
