Unusual Design Charming Persian Asad-Abad Hamedan. 100%Natural, vegetable dye, hand woven, wool pile on cotton foundation. The village of Asad-Abad produces a very limited number of rugs however, the limited few that are produced are superior in terms of wool quality, design and color scheme. It is intriguing to mention that these vibrant and charming pieces are woven by the women of the household with very little education, if any at all. What is intriguing about this piece is that fact that the weaver has gotten away from the usual symmetrical pattern, making it very appealing. This Asad-Abad Hamedan is a perfect example of man's intrinsic genius striving for beauty and perfection, and in this case, in the form of a hand woven rug, an art underfoot. This piece has a fairly lush and glowing wool pile, plus the well pronounced design, which is indicative of a superior quality. This lovely piece is a diamond in the rough.
