Untouched well-used C. S. Richmond percussion carbine, .58 cal., 28” round barrel, 1862 dated lock, heavy dark patina over considerable blood pitting on the barrel and action, worn wood stock with hand carved checkering and a period hand carved Texas Star in the right side of the butt stock. This Civil War era gun could probably tell quite a few stories; its action is still good, the bore dark, the markings on the lock plate visible but interrupted by the heavy pitting, the rear sight is long missing, the sling swivels still present as is what appears to be an original period ramrod. The wood is worn and shows scattered nicks, mars, and scratches from carry and storage. Est.: $3,000-$4,500.
