Early to middle period American Brilliant U-notched rim bowl with quality cut pattern of 8-point, double mitered and flashed hobstars alternating with modified Vesica cross hatched fan, diamond strawberry and fine cut star above hobstar border. Center pattern of alternating double cut silver diamond and fan set within deep miter cut pie sections.
Low bowl measures 7 inches in diameter by 2 inches high and is rated to be in very good condition. One tooth within a U-notch has chipped and is now smooth polished, another has a very small flake on the side just below the tip of the point. Both are hard to detect and smooth to the touch. No chips or flakes to the miter edges. Color is rated as very white, blank is heavy and clear. No sickness or residue.
Attribution of cutter or glass house has not been identified, however, similar cuts and a variation of this pattern is seen with Bergen's Richmond or possibly Straus. We gladly welcome a positive attribution or pattern name.
