Pre-Stamp Cover, Letter folded as Cover, 12 Annas, 1840, Tirhoot to Calcutta, with a three-compartment rectangular Red dispatch seal “TIRHOOT| 1840 December 13th | Paid 12As.”, value 12 Annas and date 13th are hand endorsed, this rectangular seal has all three compartments closed, it is unrecorded in Giles. Another Red rectangular cancellation seal of two lines 'GPO 1840' and a Black seal 'AM' is clearly visible. Addressed to "Messrs Bagshaw and Co. Calcutta", good condition, Extremely Rare.
