It is not quite true to say that this blue sapphire is & quot;brand new& quot;, since it is more likely 150 million years old!& nbsp; More recently, though, it has been mined, faceted and polished, and likely received other special treatments that most blue sapphires receive..Just imagine all the things you could do with this loose blue sapphire!& nbsp; One idea - Use is as a poise, or counterbalance on a balancing scale! It would weigh just over 3 ounces! It would certainly make a beautiful curiosity!

1) This loose gemstone is in excellent conditon, with no damage. It has natural imperfections common in corundum, such as cracks, lines, fissures, pits, and uneven color distribution.& nbsp;
