Unmarked, hand-made skinning knife in the California style. Approx. 10-5/8” overall, 6-1/8” clip blade, made from 1/4” stock. Clip blade with a round false edge. The birds-head hilt has horned scales with three brass and copper rivets. The tang tapers from the ricasso to the pommel. Blade has been sharpened significantly with minor nicks to the blade edge and slightly tipped. Overall aged patina with spots of light pitting. Significant wear and flaking to the horned scales. With original period tooled-leather sheath with brass harness rivets and belt loop. This knife has a great deal of character. Hugh Hayes Collection. Est: $3,000 - $6,000
