Unmarked Medium Frame Blunt & Syms Percussion Pepperbox
Manufactured from the late 1830s to the 1850s. The pistol has a high polish blue finish on the open scroll engraved frame and 6-shot fluted barrel. The two-piece bag shaped grips feature a high gloss piano finish and German silver screw escutcheons. Matching serial number on frame, face of the barrel cluster and the head of the barrel cluster screw. The face of the barrel cluster is also marked "R-C". The ring trigger conceals the underhammer.

Very fine. The barrel cluster retains 80% original bright blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina with some minor spotting. The frame has a smooth brown-gray patina, with scattered traces of blue on the gripstraps. The grips are also very fine with some minor dings and scratches. The engraving is clear and crisp.
