The rifle has no maker markings but consignor notes state that the rifle was possibly manufactured by Brockway. No matter who made this rifle, it is American and made in the mid 19th century, prior to Civil War. The heavy weight barrel has provisions for a false muzzle and the underside is tapped for an accessory near the muzzle. The hammer has a light scroll engraving. The scope has turret style adjusting base at rear. Smooth straight grip stock with crescent buttplate.

Condition: Good. The rifle has a smooth dark patina with extensive minor pitting. The scope has poor optics and a smooth brown patina with extensive minor pitting near the objective lens. The stock is good with a minor crack and some chipping near the lock with some cracking along the grain and some minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.
