Most likely made for the Mediterranean Trade in the early 18th century. Blade sight, with a 1/2 inch wide brass wire reinforcing band between the sight and muzzle, a set of unclear markings on a short rib, raised designs and scroll engraving. Lock plate is covered in scroll and geometric pattern engraving, with raised designs on the serrated frizzen and the hammer. Brass furniture, with punch-dot backed raised scroll designs on the reverse plate, raised floral and scroll designs on the trigger guard, and engraving on the brass pommel cap. Full length stock, with wavy borders around the barrel and lock, raised scrolls on the underside, punched dots along the tang, and a scroll decorated section accented with a pair of pearls, a multicolored gem and a teardrop cut ruby.
