''U.S. Official Pictures of the World War Showing America's Participation / Selected From The Official Files of the War Department'' by William Moore and James Russell. This handsome 4-volume set is No. 371 in a limited edition published by the Pictorial Bureau: Washington DC: 1928. Each volume contains multiple sepia photos on every glossy page, chronicling the progression of WWI from start to finish. Captioned portrait photos introduce Woodrow Wilson and all the major figures, while candid shots assemble chronologically, fully illustrating the bloody world conflict. Each book is bound in brown cloth boards with a doughboy design embossed and gilded. All edges gilt with marbled endpapers. All four hardcover books measure 11'' x 9.25'' and run approximately 250-300pp. each. Bumping to board corners, wear to spine edges and toning to leaves, else near fine. A beautiful and dramatic collection.
