United States 6% Loan of 1813 Hessler X71A very rare signed and issued example of Stock that was issued to provide for the exchange of the Treasury Notes commonly known as the War of 1812 issue. Issued in the amount of $3,555.54 in New York, to John Laird of Georgetown, D.C. Hessler makes mention of another example from Massachusetts, but lists this variety as R.8. This example is a very nice Very Fine-Extremely Fine, with a couple of edge splits, one at each end. We sold two similar items in our January Fun Sale in Orlando earlier this year, but both were unissued remainders. One, a Hessler X67, sold for $4,887.50, and a Hessler X84 sold for $5,175. We expect this signed and issued example to far surpass this level, and we would not be surprised if it surpassed our estimate of. . . Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
