Manufacturer: DWM Model: 1920
This is an excellent example of a post-World War I Model 1920 DWM commercial Luger pistol fitted with the desirable 6 inch commercial barrel. These 1920 commercials were manufactured in two types: World War I military Lugers that were reworked by the DWM factory and the later manufactured Lugers with all new parts. This example is a military rework, however it was manufactured to the same high standards as all the commercial models. The chamber is blank with the DWM monogram on the front toggle. There are "crown/N" commercial proofs on the left barrel extension and front toggle. The front of the frame is marked "GERMANY" along with the full serial number with the "o" suffix. "GERMANY" is also stamped on the left side of the barrel. The side plate has an exquisitely executed presentation "PEG" monogram inside a diamond motif. The safety position and extractor are correctly marked. The partial serial number "63" is stamped on the takedown latch and toggle link. Fixed sights, stock lug, straw colored small parts, checkered walnut grips and nickel plated magazine with "GERMANY" marked wood base. Complete with an unmarked commercial textured brown leather holster and an extra nickel plated magazine with wood base marked "GERMANY".
BBL: 6 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 7.65 mm
Finish: blue
Grips: walnut
Serial Number: 2963o
Condition:
Excellent. The pistol retains 99% original blue finish with the rear of the frame thinned to a smooth brown patina, along with some scattered minor thinning. The small parts retain 95% original straw color. There is a barely noticeable hairline crack near the screw on the right panel, otherwise the grips are excellent with a few minor nicks in the overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The holster is very fine with some scattered minor flex wear. The stitching is tight.
