Manufactured in 1907, this unique rifle features a factory threaded muzzle which accommodates the 7 1/4" "silencer". The maxim device is a demonstration cut away and is not a functioning silencer as defined by the ATF. The barrel end is marked ".38". The rifle is also equipped with an unmarked 16 3/8" tube scope with screw on lens caps. The scope is professionally mounted by using a bracket which wraps around the bottom of the forearm and secures on the upper edges and a flat plate has been added to the right side of the wrist which holds the rear mounting bracket. The top barrel flat is marked with the two line address and 1894 patent date ahead of the rear sight and "38-55" at the breech end. The Winchester oval proof is present on the top barrel flat and top of the receiver at the breech. Standard three line upper tang, Winchester, model and trade mark marking and the serial number is on the bottom of the receiver. Brass blade front, adjustable buck horn rear sights, full magazine tube, blue finish with casehardened hammer, lever and buttplate, and mounted with a smooth walnut forearm and straight grip stock with a steel end cap and crescent buttplate. The rifle is complete with a custom made wooden case with green felt lining, a tube of Winchester "Gun Grease", a 20 count box of U.M.C. 38-55-255 cartridges and a 20 count box (partially full) of Peters 38-55 Smokeless C.F. cartridges.

Condition: Excellent. The rifle retains 95% original finish with some thinning on the barrel, scattered flaking on the receiver and overall some high edge wear. The lever and hammer retain most of the original case colors with areas faded to a smooth gray patina. The buttplate retain 40% original case colors with a smooth gray patina on the balance. The wood is also excellent with only a few overall scattered minor dings and handling marks. The scope is very fine with much of the original thinning blue finish and clear optics. The markings remain sharp. The action is excellent. A very unique Model 1894 with factory cut away silencer and uniquely mounted scope. Writer has never seen this type of scope mounting on a Winchester.
