Unique Western-style hat rack mounted with horns, leather, brass tacks and hard wood inlays of dice, diamonds and geometrics belonging to Western movie legend Tom Mix. A letter of provenance is included from the Jane Withers collection signed by Ms. Withers stating that the rack was made by a Indian chief also appeared in Western films and that this chief gave the rack to Tom Mix. Jane Withers was a long time movie star and TV star and she further states that this rack while in her home was used to hang the hats of both her favorite cowboys Roy Rogers and Gene Autry (who were both her personal friends). She transfers the hat rack to Mr. Gale Kennedy and recants the fact that she had owned it more than 50 years. She also documents the fact that the hat rack is marked February 13, 1928 made by J. Lee Morgay (Indian Chief who gifted it to Mix). The rack measures 68 ½” in height by 14” across the base. Along with studio photo of Tom Mix with his autograph on mat.
