Unique Snider Conversion Breechloading Mediterranean Pistol with Extensive Silver Inlaid Stock
Bead front and notch rear sights, with a silver burst pattern around the front sight, three arrows engraved on the top flats, silver bordered zig-zag engraved panels, vine patterns on the locking block and silver zig-zags just ahead of the rear sights. Though not marked as such, the breechblock and extractor arrangement is identical to the Snider pattern. Light zig-zag and burst engraving on the lock, with the hammer turned to reach the firing pin and the reverse plate decorated with an assortment of arms. Stock is fitted with a floral engraved silver tip, cosmetic silver ramrod, extensive silver wire scroll inlay, with the ends terminating in engraved silver flowers, silver teardrop inlays, a decorated panel on the wrist and buttcap with raised designs.

Condition: Very good, with a mixed brown and gray patina on the steel, scattered pitting and mild handling marks. The hammer has been refaced, and the firing pin bushing replaced, with a small crack visible in the breechblock. Stock is good, with a dent from the hammer on the right side, scattered chipping, pressure dents and a small amount of loose or absent silver. Mechanically fine.
