Description: For your bidding enjoyment, we offer this Smith and Wesson .38 caliber, early J-Frame (Pre-36) Model. This revolver features an Eagle with arrows and an Olive branch emblem. If you look under the grips, it tells us (according to a leading S&W expert) that this revolver is, “a re-worked and refinished .38 Regulation Police, it previously had a longer barrel of either 3.75 or 4". The 2" barrel was not yet in production on this model with such a low serial number. The sideplate engraving is not factory original.This would have been re-worked in 1974.” This gun has a 2” barrel and nice walnut grips. Maker: Smith and Wesson., Springfield, Mass. Approx. Age: 1953, but re-worked in 1974. Size: 2” barrel. >38 Cal.. Condition: Good for its age, minor wear expected. Please look closely at the pictures - they are an important part of our description.
