Unique Prototype Pepperbox Revolver Civil War RARE
This is a One of a Kind Prototype revolver from the Civil War era. This model could have potentially been used by the U.S. Government, but it was rejected. Its failure to be accepted for production actually makes it much more rare, as there is only one like it in existance. * The body is nickel plated, with delicate scrollwork. The ornamentation on top looks like it could be the number 59. The barrel cluster is made up of six smooth bore barrels The overalll length is 8 inches. The trigger mechanism is manual, and the hammer comes down fine, although it would need some adjustment for it to be capable of firing. The grips are wood, and show some minor wear. There is small embossed brass tag with the number 90 hanging from copper wire around the trigger guard. We believe this might be the original model number. * This is rare opportunity to acquire a top grade prototype gun from the era of Civil War firearms manufacturing.
