Unique Post World War I Weimar Era Imperial German Navy DWM Rework Luger Pistol

This is a unique example of a early post WWI DWM Luger pistol that has been reworked for the German Imperial Navy, probably in the 1925-1930 time frame. The top of the chamber is blank, as the date was removed during the rework process, however it still retains the DWM markings on the front toggle with the right side of the barrel extension also blank. The only actual proof marks on the pistol are early Simson "Eagle/O" Navy proof found on the left side of the barrel and barrel extension, typically applied in the 1922-1929 time frame. Additionally the front grip strap is property marked "O.1363.", indicating issue to the Baltic Sea Fleet. It is fitted with the standard checkered walnut grips and it has one blued magazine with a wooden base that is marked "N 1742/x".

Manufucture: DWM
Model: 1920 Rework
BBL: 3 7/8 inch round
Stock:
Guage: 9 mm Luger
Finish: blue
Grips: walnut
Serial Number: 2791a

Fine with 90% of the arsenal refurbished blue finish overall with edge and high spot wear with blue loss due to removal of markings on the lower section of the back strap. The grips are in very good condition overall with even honest wear mixed with some minor handling marks. It has matching numbers except the magazine as noted above. This is a very good example of a scarce early post WWI German Imperial Navy luger.
