Unique NSKK Marked Walther PP Pistol
This is an attractive example of an extremely scarce, early production NSKK contract pistol. The serial number of this specific pistol is earlier than the serial number listings in both Rankin's first Walther book (pg 100) and also the book on "Axis Pistol" by author Jan Still (pg 24). This pistol appears to be correct and the serial number range of this pistol pre-dates the known NSKK pistol ranges by approximately 2000 pistols. Based on the serial number, this could be one of the very first NSKK contract pistols produced and sold by Walther. The most convincing aspect of this pistol is that it has the standard Walther slide markings and only the "NSKK" letters have been milled into the slide, directly under the "MOD PP". There is no large NSKK Banner over the Nazi Eagle, which would be correct for these early models as you may recall on the later NSKK series pistols. Walther had to move the entire Walther Banner and slide markings to the front of the slide to accommodate the later and larger "NSKK/Banner//Eagle" markings. The pistol still has the original high polish blued finish with the standard Walther Banner and slide markings on the left side of the slide, along with the commercial Crown "N" proofs on the right side. The serial number runs vertically down the frame directly in front of the grips. It is complete with one Walther marked, all blued magazine with the black plastic finger extension on the bottom.
