Unique Left Handed Single Shot Needle Fire Carbine
This is an example of a left handed single shot needle fire breech loading carbine, which is most likely of German origin. The bolt is equipped without a handle and is released by pushing back the locking mechanism on top of the bolt at the rear. Once the bolt is pulled back, the firing pin is cocked and a lever extending the right side of the octagon receiver is released. Pushing the lever down and away from the bolt causes the chamber to swivel upward for loading. Once loaded, the lever is pulled back to close the chamber and then the bolt is pushed forward until locked. Locking the bolt locks the lever so that the chamber is secure in the firing position and leaves the firing pin cocked. The serial number on the upper left barrel flat is the only marking on the rifle. Blade front sight and notch rear sight. Fitted with a left handed straight grip stock with Schnabel forearm, checkered wrist, horn trigger guard, raised cheekpiece on the right side and hard rubber shotgun style buttplate.

Very good. The barrel has a smooth brown patina with some minor spotting. There is a mixed gray patina on the lever. The horn trigger guard has some minor dings and scratches. The stock is fine with some minor dings and scratches, along with some minor notches and a small chip near the toe. The right side of the buttstock has some spot of an unknown substance near the cheekpiece. The buttplate has some separation from the stock and some minor dings and scratches. The wrist checkering is very good. Mechanically fine.
