Unique Engraved and Silver Inlaid Special Order Unwin & Rodgers Percussion Knife Pistol
Produced without sights, with "UNWIN & RODGERS SHEFFIELD" marked on top of the barrel, with Birmingham proofs, scroll engraving on the breech and hammer and a raised set of three silver feathers on top of the breech. The hammer is a solid metal block with a serrated spur, and the trigger is a 1 1/2 inch long corkscrew. A four inch blade is mounted below and to the left of the barrel, with wavy kris-style edges, unsharpened false edge, and "crown/ T R" on the right ricasso. Black horn grip panels, three on each side, divided by filed metal and ivory bands, with a serrated iron blade hinge, an extended semi-circular butt, and ivory sunburst carved screw escutcheons. A number of Unwin & Rodgers and James Rodgers knife pistols have been observed, but this one appears unique in both embellishment and overall design, and would make a fine addition to any collection of multi-function or disguised weapons.

Very good plus, with a mixed gray patina on the metal components and some minor spotting overall. The horn sections are very fine, with minor handling marks and scratches, and the ivory portions show a few thin age cracks and color. Trigger retention spring weak, otherwise mechanically fine.
