This is an example of an Italian "Lampo" Repeating Pocket Pistol made by C. Torbuzio, Turin, Italy. Very similar in concept to the French squeeze pistol except the frame is a bit thinner and there is a plunger at the bottom of the frame that the shooter places his/hers middle finger into to fire while the pointer finger rests on a cutout above the plunger. The pistol is loaded through the top of the frame into the internal magazine. Releasing the plunger allows the bolt to retract, ejecting the spend cartridge. There are no makers markings, and the right rear barrel flat and side of the frame are marked with Belgium proof marks and "ELGIUM". The sides of the frame are decorated with floral scroll designs with gold inlay accents in the center. The top of the frame has simple scroll designs and the top of the barrel has simple line and zigzag designs. Blue finish with nickel plated barrel and extractors.
BBL: 2 5/8 inch paert octagon
Stock:
Gauge: 8 mm
Finish: blue/nickel
Grips: metal
Serial Number: NSN
Condition: Excellent. The pistol retains 98% of the original blue and nickel finished with wear on the trigger/plunger and frame edges. Almost all of the gold inlay remains and the engraving remains crisp. The action is excellent.
