Unique DWM Model 1900 Bulgarian Contract Sample Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol

This is an extremely rare and possibly one of a kind very early model 1900 DWM Luger pistol that may be the original pre-Bulgarian pattern or sample contract DWM Model 1900 Luger. Any early model 1900 Bulgarian contract Luger is extremely rare as only a handful of original examples are even know to exist with most of them having been converted to 9mm during their years of service prior to both WWI and WWII. This example is even rarer in that the serial number of this pistol (14602) falls into the middle of the regular Model 1900 commercial contract range (01-19,000). However it has been roll marked over the chamber with the correct Bulgarian Crest that was used on the later serial number range (20,000-21,000) for the Bulgarian Contract Lugers. The front toggle is marked with the DWM logo. This pistol has all the standard early features found only on the Model 1900 Lugers, such as the short frame with the old style leaf recoil springs, dished toggles with toggle locks, recessed breech bolt, fast taper 4 3/4 inch barrel, grip safety, First Pattern polished lower safety position, no markings and no stock lug. Rust blue finish with the straw colors on the small parts, original nickel plated magazine with unmarked wooden base and fitted with checkered walnut grips.

Manufucture: DWM
Model: 1900
BBL: 4 3/4 inch round
Stock:
Guage: 7.65 mm Luger Auto
Finish: blue
Grips: walnut
Serial Number: 14602

Excellent. The pistol retains 90% plus of the original blue finish with only minor edge and high spot wear, and some thinning on the grip straps. The various small parts retain 50% of the straw colors, more in the protected areas. The grips are excellent with some minor handling marks and crisp checkering. This example has all matching numbers except the magazine as noted. This is a unique example of a very scarce early pre-Bulgarian DWM Model 1900 Contract Luger pistol.
