Unique Colt Medium Frame Slide Action Saddle Ring Carbine with London Dealer Marks and Presentation
Manufactured in 1897. The top of the barrel is marked with the standard two line address/patent dates ahead of the rear sight and "44 Cal." on the left rear. In addition ahead of the caliber marking is "L7905" and "crown / GP 420 (upside-down dot Crown / V rampant lion /g" below the caliber marking. The front upper left side of the receiver is marked with the "crown / V" proofmark. The top of the bolt is inscribed "ARTHUR JOHN WESTON / FROM A FEW / OLD HAMPSTEAD FRIENDS / DEC 1898" and the left side of the receiver is marked "FRDERIC T BAKER / 33 FLEET ST & 29 GLASSHOUSE ST / PICCADILLY CIRCUS / LONDON". Standard fixed front sight and folding leaf rear sight graduated to 900 yards. Saddle ring and staple on the left rear of the receiver and mounted with a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with an iron carbine buttplate.

Condition: Very good. The metal surfaces have a smooth grayish brown patina with strong original finish in the protected areas. There is some minor pitting on the receiver. The wood is good with a moderate gouge on the left side of the stock and overall scattered minor dings, scratches and dents. All markings are clear. The action is excellent.
