This unusual Colt 357 double action revolver was manufactured in 1959 and features a blade front sight without the usual ramp and a fixed notch frame rear sight. The gun has standard markings with the barrel marked "COLT 357/.357 MAGNUM CTG." on the left side and with the one line Colt address on right side and the Rampant Colt on the left side of the frame behind the cylinder release. Standard serrated hammer, serrated trigger, smooth back strap, and is fitted with checkered grips with silver Colt medallions. Colt produced less that 15,000 of these revolvers, and this revolver is unique in two ways, one of which is the sights, having a basic notch rear sight on the top strap of the frame and non-ramped front blade, very similar to the later Lawman Model revolvers, and the other is each chamber on the cylinder is marked with a stamped number 1 through 6. The consignor notes state that the revolver is a factory sample.
